Rise from the Ashes Dramione, DH - EWE, Post-Hogwarts, Ministry Fic ~Chapter Thirty-Nine~ Regroup Monday saw them all reconvene at the office, Draco via the floo. They all felt the same way. The third group murder had come as a hammer blow, particularly cruel after Hermione’s success with the Mark removal, and facing a new week with wizarding Britain in a semi-lockdown, panicked and worried about their safety and the Ministry’s ability to ensure it, was no small thing to face down. For Hermione it was something of a relief when Harry’s letter came early in the morning as she was brushing her teeth, having woken up at her usual time through force of habit, despite still being dead on her feet. He had written asking for her to come in, saying that Draco would floo, which had been both a relief and a disappointment for her. She wasn’t quite sure how her news had gone down with him the previous night, but she knew that there was no way he could have taken it as calmly as he had seemed

Philosopher's Stone! Now Jade was curious, so she walked up to them. "What's so important about a stupid mirror?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. The boys rose and looked at each other as they realized she'd heard everything they'd just said. Jade sighed. "You might as well tell me, or I'll just tell filch you've been roaming the halls at night." "You have no proof of that," Ron said angrily getting dangerously close to her personal space. "I don't need proof, all I need do is make him suspicious and he'll be looking for you specifically," she smirked at the Weasley and he glared at her knowing how easy that would be with what she heard. Harry sighed then told her about seeing the Mirror of Erised *without saying its name* and seeing his dead parents in it while Ron only saw himself as a Quidditch Captain. Her eyes widened but she didn't say anything as they went back to their original conversation. "You sound like Hermione." "I'm serious, Harry, don't go." 'The Mirror... of

Jade sat on the bench then hesitantly ran her fingers across each key starting in the middle. After, she began to just seemingly play something random. However, she didn't know it had been charmed so each key played was heard threw each room in the manor. After about fifteen minutes of doing this, she realized what she was doing and stopped. 'How am I even able to play this... I've never played on one before nor have I ever watched anyone else play... So how can I?' She thought to herself. When she couldn't give herself an answer to that question, she began to think of a song she really liked and began to absently play it on the piano as well as sing the song. Ka-Ching! by Shania Twain "We live in a greedy little world... that teaches every little boy and girl... to earn as much as they can possibly... then turn around and spend it foolishly" She sang with a sneer on her face as she began to remember all the times Mr. or Mrs. Evans had told her they couldn't afford to buy

Play catch Potter Harry grabbed his broom. "No!" shouted Hermione Granger. "Madam Hooch told us not to move, you'll get us all into trouble." That was all Jade needed to actually take off into the air the same way Draco had. "You know... if you never break a rule or two... you'll not be living much of a life at all." She said in a teasing voice to Hermione but soon realized the bookworm had taken her teasing as words of hate. She sighed and shrugged it off. Harry just ignored the girl and mounted his broom and kicked hard against the ground and up, up he soared, air rushed through his hair and his robes whipped out behind him. He pulled his broomstick up a little to make it go even higher and heard screams and gasps of girls back on the ground and an admiring whoop from Ron. He turned his broomstick sharply to face Draco in mid-air, who looked stunned. "Give it here," Harry called, "or I'll knock you off that broom!" "Oh, yeah?" said Draco, trying to sneer, but looking worried.

Lies from a Slytherin The troll couldn't feel Harry hanging there, but even a troll will notice if you stick a long bit of wood up its nose, and Harry's wand had been in his hand when he'd jumped, it had gone straight up one of the troll's nostrils. Howling with pain, the troll twisted and flailed its club, with Harry clinging on for dear life, any second, the troll was going to rip him off or catch him a terrible blow with the club. Hermione had sunk to the floor in fright with Jade. Draco pulled out his own wand, as he'd had enough of the girl's frightened screams. "Wingardium Leviosa!" he shouted as the troll's club flew suddenly out of its hand, high up into the air, turned slowly over and dropped, with a sickening crack, on to its owner's confused head. The troll swayed on the spot and then fell flat on its face, with a thud that made the whole room tremble. Harry got to his feet. He was shaking and out of breath but turned to Malfoy. "Thank you, Malfoy," Potter said

Rise from the Ashes Dramione, DH - EWE, Post-Hogwarts, Ministry Fic ~Chapter Thirty-Six~ Breath Much as Hermione might have been loathe to admit it, Draco had had a point. Even just being out in the cool night air was refreshing after the stuffy fug from brewing potions, and through the haze of her tiredness the streetlamps twinkled like Christmas lights, conjuring the comfort of the festive season in her exhausted mind and body. The restaurant he had chosen was a wonderful experience – a Michelin starred location serving an extravagant degustation menu – and was mostly wasted on Hermione in such a state, but she managed to appreciate the excellence of the food, even though she let Draco do the work of ordering. The soft and luxurious ambiance was also a relief to sink into, a charmed bubble, and much as she didn’t want to admit it, she needed the break, and the normalcy of the restaurant filled with Muggles out to dinner for a Friday evening felt like a welcome haven.
